On April 1, the Working Group on Cooperation of the Small and Medium Entrepreneurship (SME) adjunct to the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs convened the first sitting.

The RA NA deputies and the SME representatives took part in the debate. Eight SME organizations are included in the Working Group.

The provisions concerning the SME in the tax legislation and the urgent problems of the sphere were discussed.

The Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Babken Tunyan has informed that the main goal of the debate is bring to the field of constructive field the problems relating to the tax sphere. According to him, the parliamentary majority, the government and the opposition want to have improved Tax Code taking into consideration everybody’s interests.

The RA NA Deputy Minister of Finance Arman Poghosyan touched upon the current tax system.

The member of the SME Cooperation Association NGO Founding-Council Hakob Avagyan presented the problems demanding urgent solution existing in the tax legislation concerning the SME.

The RA Deputy Minister of Finance referred to this and other presented recommendations, pointed out their positive and negative sides, expressing hope that the rates would be specified and the sphere would be improved.

Numerous questions were addressed to the speakers, which related to the turnover, the GDP, the income and other tax types, the tax administration and other problems.
